An arpeggio is a musical technique where notes in a chord are played in sequence, means hitting the strings one by one, instead of playing all the notes simultaneously . "Arpeggio" is derived from the Italian word "arpeggiare", which means "to play on aharp. Also be known as "Broken Chord.
An arpeggio is a group of notes which are played one by one, either going up or going down. Executing an arpeggio requires the playerto play the chord's string one by one so that one can differentiate the sound. Notes are belong to the same Chord. The chord is made up of the 1st,3rd and 5th note of its scale known as triads. The C chord has C,E and G notes. So we play the notes (C E G C E G C).
Arpeggios can also be known as Broken Chord because in arpeggio we do not play the all the strings of chord simultaneouly.Arpeggios can rise and fall in more than one octave.
Arpeggios are played on the beginning of the song.
Arpeggios can also be played in a very impresive way by pull off and hammer on
pull off- -a technique whereby a note is sounded by pulling a left hand finger of the fretboard after plucking the fretted note, causing the note to sound without needing to be plucked by the right hand.
hammer on - a technique whereby a note is sounded by bringing a finger on the left hand firmly down on string causing the note to sound without needing to be plucked by the right hand.
