In this section I will tell you some facts about chords. Sometimes you may think, that why the chords named 'G' major , 'D' major etc. Behind this there is a reason. The following are the points to remember the functioning of chords:

The songs are in some scale.If the song starts with the 'C' major scale.
Then the chords we will play that suits the song better.
The first chord play in the song is known as 'key'.
With that key you can find the rest of other chords play in the song.

Now following are the family of chords for 'C' major chord.
C D E F G A B C - This is 'C' major scale.
With the help of this scale , we will come to know that if the song starts with the 'C' major chord. Then which other chords we should play.

Above I told you that the chords are made up of three notes i.e triads.The chord is made up of 1st, 3rd and 5th note of there scale. The 'C' major chord is made up C E G notes. Then move forward to the scale. The other note is 'D' . So after C E G , there is D F A i.e D minor chord.

D F A - 'D' minor
E G B - 'E' minor
F A C - 'F' major
G B D - 'G' major
A C E - 'A' minor
B D F - Now this is neither major chord nor minor chord. So this is considered as 'B' diminished chord.

The procedure is same. But in minor chords the 3rd note is flat . To that of the major chords

Go half step down to 'E' note. i.d D#.
So the notes played in the 'C' minor chords are C D# G.
